NJOHSP's Grants Management Bureau hosted a grant writing workshop in the Burlington County OEM Auditorium for organizations eligible to receive funding from the SECUR-NJ Grant. The workshop provided an overview of the grant application process, allowing applicants the opportunity to ask questions about the process and specific security enhancements for their facilities.

The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness and the US Department of Homeland Security, in partnership with the City of Camden, Camden County Prosecutor's Office and the Camden County Police Department, hosted a "Hometown Security Initiative" in Camden, New Jersey to help the local businesses and their employees further support the safety and security of the communities they serve.

Interfaith Advisory Council - Muslim Outreach Committee Meeting
New Jersey’s top law enforcement executives met with over 70 faith-based leaders and government representatives from throughout the state for the quarterly Interfaith Advisory Council meeting today in New Brunswick. The Council allows State leadership to maintain an ongoing dialogue with all communities of faith in New Jersey and address security needs and concerns.
Nonprofit Security Grant Program Workshop
The Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) provides funding to organizations, as described under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, at high risk of terrorist attacks and located within designated areas of New Jersey. A grant writing workshop was hosted in Hamilton, New Jersey for awarded agencies to understand the contents of the application, the scoring of the application and the overall grant process.

The Attorney General, the State’s new Chief Technology Officer, the Director of the Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness, the Director of the New Jersey Division of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Rutgers officials announced the statewide implementation of a new “Text-to-9-1-1” system and introduce a promotional video to drive home the important message of “Call When You Can… Text When You Can’t.”

Summer Internship Program 2016
NJOHSP's 2016 Summer Interns gave their final capstone presentations to complete an eight week internship program. Over the eight weeks, the interns assisted on a variety of projects across counterterrorism, cybersecurity, and resiliency fields while learning more about the public and private sectors through brown bag lunches and field trips to facilities of NJOHSP partners across the State.
NJ Governor's STEM Scholars
The New Jersey Governor's STEM Scholars joined NJOHSP Director of Administration Jared Maples and staff at the Regional Operations Intelligence Center (ROIC) to learn more about the New Jersey Cybersecurity & Communications Integration Cell (NJCCIC) facility and to understand the approach of analyzing shared and real-time situational cyber threats and common trends.
