The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP) will sponsor a two-hour presentation entitled: “Hostile Vehicle Mitigation Seminar”. There is no cost to attend this seminar.
The frequency of hostile vehicle incidents is increasing due to the ease of vehicle acquisition and use, the success of past attacks, and the promotion of vehicle-ramming tactics by foreign terrorist organizations. Hostile vehicle attacks are unsophisticated, can be executed with minimal training and planning, and are difficult to detect prior to an attack. Additionally, events that draw large groups of people are typically scheduled and announced in advance—identifying potentially attractive vehicle-ramming targets.
This seminar will educate the first responder community by reviewing recent vehicle-ramming incidents and discussing tactics and strategies to mitigate and deter future attacks during large-scale special events.
This training seminar is for first responders only.
Seminar locations will be sent via email one week prior.
