The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness along with the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management will be sponsoring several deliveries of a one day training course titled, Planning for Disaster Debris Management (MGT-460). The National Disaster Preparedness Training Center (NDPTC) at the University of Hawaii, a member of the National Domestic Preparedness Consortium (NDPC), will be instructing the DHS approved training course.

This eight-hour management-level course is designed to enable participants to identify debris management components and the best planning practices using existing plan examples and case studies. Participants will also draft an outline of a debris management plan. MGT-460 Planning for Disaster Debris Management provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to create pre-disaster debris management plans for their own communities. The goal of this course is to enable participants to outline a disaster debris management plan and recognize special considerations when planning for debris management after a natural disaster.
The target audience for this awareness-level and instructor-led course consists of different of first responders and other stakeholders who respond to emergencies such as: Emergency Management; Emergency Medical Services; Fire Service; Government Administrative; Law Enforcement; and Public Works.
