The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security & Preparedness (OHSP) will sponsor a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) training program titled: “Surveillance Detection for Law Enforcement and Security Professionals” on Wednesday, February 18th thru Friday, February 20th 2015, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., at the Monmouth County Sheriff’s Public Safety Complex located at 2500 Kozloski Road, Freehold NJ 07728.

There is no cost to attend this workshop.

This course is designed for law enforcement, security managers and security staff operating in secure and/or open “soft” facilities and provides participants with the skills and knowledge to establish surveillance detection operations to protect critical infrastructure during periods of elevated threat.

Consisting of classroom lectures and daily practicals at pre-determined location(s), the course increases awareness of terrorist tactics and attack history and illustrates the means and methods used to detect surveillance. The Surveillance Detection workshop is a three-day, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sponsored initiative, which provides guidelines for mitigating risks to critical infrastructure by developing, applying, and employing surveillance detection protective measures through a surveillance detection plan. Instructors explain the fundamentals for detecting surveillance activity as well as how this protective program can be applied to detect and deter potential threats to your facilities and assets. Students apply skills such as observation and reporting, vulnerability analysis, and surveillance detection, during practical exercises throughout the course.
