Drew University Panel Discussion

New Jersey’s top homeland security and law enforcement officials participated in a panel discussion at Drew University to discuss how their work affects the areas of law, justice, and security. Panel members included NJOHSP Director Chris Rodriguez, Attorney General of the State of New Jersey, John Jay Hoffman, United States Attorney for the District of New Jersey, Paul Fishman, and Special Agent in Charge, Richard Frankel, of the FBI Newark field office.

The discourse of the evening revolved around dealing with the balance between civil rights and security, challenges of transparency, and citizen collaboration and engagement. After the formal session, attendees, many of whom are part of NJOHSP’s Interfaith Advisory Council, were able to meet and interact with the panelists and each other, as a shining example of the type of partnership and productivity such outreach events can begin to foster.
