Internships

2017 Spring Application Coming Soon

The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness (NJOHSP) is charged with leading and coordinating New Jersey's counterterrorism and cybersecurity efforts, as well as building resiliency throughout the State. NJOHSP offers students who are currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university the opportunity to apply for an internship at our Hamilton or Newark offices. 

Requirements:

  • Students must be currently enrolled full-time in an accredited college/university;
  • Students must be enrolled in a “for credit” internship course to receive credit;
  • Students must complete and deliver the application when posted;
  • Students must provide a writing sample (not to exceed 500 words), resume, and cover letter discussing why you wish to intern for NJOHSP;
  • Upon acceptance, students will be required to undergo a Level 1 (personal and criminal) background investigation check.

This program gives students the opportunity to receive training and career development while earning college credits and gaining valuable work experience.
