AUDIENCE: Public and private sector managers and security personnel responsible for facility security & safety

DESCRIPTION:

This one day Active Shooter Workshop has been designed to provide public and private sector business and security managers and security personnel responsible for security and safety and law enforcement officers with the tools needed to develop Active Shooter Plans for business and facilities. The workshop is based on the DHS Training Course Active Shooter: What You Can Do

The workshop will include the following topics course:

  • History of Active Shooter Incidents
  • Indicators for Potential Workplace Violence
  • Instruction on How to Develop an Active Shooter Plan (prepare for, react to, recover from active shooter incident)
  • Scenario Based Exercise on handling an Active Shooter incident at your facility

PREREQUISTIES:

It is recommended but not mandatory that participants take the DHS online course: IS-907 Active Shooter: What You Can Do (course takes approximately 45 minutes to complete)
