New Jersey’s Current Operating Environment: Threats Posed by ISIS, HVEs, and Sovereign Citizens

The Regional Intelligence Academy (RIA) is sponsoring a law enforcement brief discussing the current threats posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), homegrown violent extremists (HVEs), and Sovereign Citizens.

DESCRIPTION

The New Jersey Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness – in coordination with the Newark Federal Bureau of Investigations and New Jersey State Police – will be briefing on the threats posed by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), homegrown violent extremists (HVEs), and Sovereign Citizens. Participating agencies will provide an overview of ISIS and their continued intent to target the United States, the radicalization process and threats posed by HVEs, the Sovereign Citizen movement in New Jersey, and how to report suspicious activity associated with terrorist activity in the State.
