DESCRIPTION

The NJ Regional Intelligence Academy will be hosting a FREE Three (3) day Analyst Leadership Course on Tuesday, April 28th thru Thursday, April 30th 2015, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, at the Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute.

This three‐day awareness course is designed to develop the leadership competencies of Civilian intelligence analysts.

The course will identify the skills necessary to perform within today's law enforcement/fusion center driven environment so they can be effective leaders within the public safety community.

The participants of this course will be introduced to leadership styles, public safety planning, and methodologies in order to impact their operating environments as a means to better facilitate New Jersey’s intelligence‐led approach to public safety.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: 

  • Day 1 (Leadership Styles): Participants are introduced to the concept that they must understand their own behavioral styles as well as the behavioral styles of others to maximize their effectiveness as leaders.

  • Day 2 (Public Safety Planning): Strategic, operational and tactical levels of planning are introduced and discussed, using practical examples relative to each of the three levels of planning.

  • Day 3 (Methodologies): Participants will develop their abilities to understand the dynamics of stakeholders in order to build relationships with and among key agency stakeholders to facilitate longer term strategic development.

TARGET AUDIENCE

This course is recommended for CIVILIAN intelligence analysts. This program is designed for individuals assigned as Intelligence Analysts within law enforcement agencies and/or detailed to fusion centers.
